Turkish Economy and Turkish Money

In Turkey, the monetary unit is Turkish Lira (TL). The coinage is in 5 Kurus, 10 Kurus, 25 Kurus, 50 Kurus and 1 Turkish Lira. On the other hand bank notes are of 5 TL, 10 TL, 20 TL, 50 TL, 100 TL and 200 TL. The exchange rate changes frequently. Below you can see how the coinages and bank notes look like. It might be helpful before you visit Turkey to get oriented with Turkish money. Especially be careful to distinguish 5 TL and 50 TL since the colours or those are very similar to each other and you might accidentally give 50 TL when you are expected to give only 5 TL.
