Turkish Dishes: Sarma & Dolma

Dolma is basically the name given to the food that is wrapped or stuffed using cabbage or grapevine leaves. Other kinds of vegetables that you can hold the mixture of food together are also used to staff or wrap the food. The mixture usually includes tomatoes, courgettes, peppers or eggplants.

In the eastern part of the country, people usually use meat alone to prepare the mixture of sarma or dolma. However, especially in the western part of the country, rice is also included in the mixture . There are different forms of serving the food. People usually prefer serving it with a yogurt sauce on top.
